Senior nuclear scientist and 11 members of the Revolutionary Guard killed in Iran

A senior nuclear scientist was killed in an attack carried out by Israel in central Tehran on Friday morning, and 11 members of the Revolutionary Guard were killed in an attack on Thursday.

Iranian media reported on Friday morning that an Israeli drone struck a residential building in Tehran's Gisha neighborhood. According to Iran International, the attack targeted a base of the internal security agency Basij as Israel continued 'Operation Rising Lion' to eliminate Iran's nuclear and missile threat.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the scientist was assassinated with a drone, quoting an Israeli official. The paper further reported that "the scientist, who specialized in weaponry, was being kept in a hiding spot outside of his home."

According to an Israeli official, this assassination brings the number of scientists linked to Iran's nuclear and military programs who have been killed since the start of the Israeli operation to 10.

On the other hand, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Thursday that 11 of its members were killed in an Israeli attack in the northeastern province of East Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran was ready to discuss restrictions on its nuclear program, but did not consider completely halting enrichment, especially at a time of heightened tensions with Israel. The official also said that Iran would not negotiate with the US, but was waiting for offers from European powers.

The Israeli intelligence service estimates that Iran has the technical capacity to produce nuclear weapons within just two weeks. According to the New York Times, this assessment was shared with US officials by Mossad.

American intelligence services estimate that Tehran now has everything it needs to produce a bomb, but note that the regime has not yet made a political decision to take this step.
