The grave of YJA Star guerrilla fighter Revan Zana Barıştıran in Van has been attacked and demolished for the fourth time.
Revan Zana Barıştıran (Omedya Rohat), a member of the YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops), was martyred in a Turkish air strike in Dersim in 2016. Her grave in Van province has been attacked for the fourth time.
The guerrilla fighter’s father, Fadıl Barıştıran, said that this was not the first attack on his daughter's grave, adding, “Every morning, I come here and water the graves of the martyrs. This morning, I saw my daughter's gravestone broken and demolished.”
Fadıl Barıştıran added, “We have previously filed a criminal complaint regarding the demolition of her grave three times, but we did not get any results. According to the residents, panzers came to the cemetery at 9 p.m. yesterday evening. What do they want from our dead? This is provocation. The authorities must find a solution immediately.”
Demanding those responsible for the attack to be found and punished, Fadıl Barıştıran said, “They should stop bothering our dead. We stand behind our values and will continue to do so.”
