Women call for participation in 8 March rallies to be held in Amed and Van

Calling for participation in the 8 March rallies to be held in Amed and Van, women said: "Let's raise our voices by saying Jin, Jiyan, Azadi."

Women who will take to the streets on 8 March will unite and become one voice. The two main rallies in Kurdistan will take place in Amed and Van. Women in Van will meet in Musa Anter Park, while women in Amed will meet in Istasyon Square.

Women called for participation in the rallies.

People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Van Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor candidate Neslihan Şedal said that Kurdish women have been struggling for thousands of years against the plunder, destruction, violence and war regime created by the male-dominated mentality, and added: "We are fighting for social problems, every day. We treat 8 March as a day of struggle and this is how we expand and organize our resistance. The mentality we are fighting against is re-updating itself and spreading in many different ways."

In Amed, a rally will be held in Istasyon Square organized by the Dicle Amed Women's Platform (DAKAP) and the Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA). Artist Ayşenur Kolivar and JIN MA will perform at the rally.

Sultan Yaray, member of the Rally Organizing Committee and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Amed Provincial co-chair, said that 8 March was an important day for women and added: “We started in front of the prison on 1 March and flew freedom doves. On 8 March, we will call first and foremost for peace. We will be together against nature plunder as well as assimilation. We will be one voice and call for peace. Let's raise our voices by chanting Jin, Jiyan, Azadi.
