DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven has been on hunger strike for 104 days demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Leyla Güven is being visited by hundreds of people, artists, politicians, international parliamentarians like today, when she was visited by Sinn Fein MEP Martina Anderson.

Among today’s visitors were also women filmmakers and actresses who were received by Leyla Güven at her home in Bağcılar district of Bağlar, in Amed.

During the visit, Kurdish artists Mizgin Tahir and Özlem Gerçek sang songs for the HDP Hakkari MP and chatted with her, taking some photos with her.

After the visit, Kurdish artist Mizgin Tahir said that Leyla Güven led the women's struggle and said that the women got strength from her.

Tahir added that the hunger strike carried out by Leyla Güven was an action against the exploitation and labor exploitation. “This resistance - said Tahir - is a very transparent resistance. For this reason, we commend Leyla Güven and respect her actions. Her resistance is our resistance.”
