PKK and PAJK prisoners in Gebze Women’s Prison declared that they will resist against the proposed prison uniform policy by Erdoğan regime.
75 woman prisoners jailed in Gebze sent a letter to Human Rights Association (IHD) about the proposed prison uniform policy in Turkey. Prisoners called for support to their resistance against prison uniform.
Women prisoners, members of PKK (Kurdistan Worker’s Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan Women's Liberation Party), sent the following letter to IHD:
“The level of pressure and exploitation over the society by fascism of AKP is deepening the social problems day by day. By all means the policies of AKP include inhumane arguments and agenda. None of their arguments and actions helps the society, on the contrary the country sinks deeper into chaos and its now at the edge of a cliff. Now national and international law has no function, the universal laws are trampled on in the country. It is all about sacrificing all communities to the sake of the ruling power’s dynasty.
With one-man rule policy the current state is denying the existence of other nations. It tried to guarantee its dynasty with a fraudulent coup d’etat. The prisoner uniform policy, although it is said to be against the followers of Gülen sect, targets PKK-PAJK members in prison. Inhumane treatments are carried out in pilot prisons and a policy of suppression is pursued.
The mandatory prison uniform policy shows the level of reckless and obsolete mentality of the AKP fascism.
We declare that we have the power and the will to frustrate these dirty politics. We will be the followers of the resistance against September 12 coup and we will never accept prison uniforms. We will show resistance against this practise no matter what the cost might be. We will never accept it.
We repeat once again. We will never wear prison uniform even if we leave this prison in a coffin. We will never accept dishonour.
We want to make our voice heard around the world and the public opinion via your organization. We call on all people with a conscience to stand against the savagery in prisons.”
