FARC party has denounced the kidnapping of María Caicedo Muñoz, woman, human rights defender and member of the Women Committee of the Women Peasants Association.

According to the information available, María Caicedo Muñoz  was kidnapped by armed men while she was in her house last 20 October. 

No information has been received about her whereabouts.

Colombia has been going through a wave of violence by paramilitary groups targeting former FARC guerrillas, social leaders, and human rights defenders since the signing of the Final Peace Agreement two years ago, on 24 November 2016.

The FARC (the political party born from the former guerrilla organization) has demanded the immediate release of Muñoz.
