TJA, HDP and KESK women continue solidarity activities with earthquake victims

TJA, HDP and KESK women continued their solidarity activities with earthquake victims in Elbistan and Siirt.

Members of the Free Women's Movement (TJA), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Women's Council and Public Workers' Unions Confederation (KESK) Women's Council continued their visit to the earthquake regions as part of the 8 March International Working Women's Day.

HDP Bingöl Provincial co-chair Mihriban Ekinci said: "We will bring their needs to women friends with the slogan ‘Women's solidarity makes them live’.

Women who came to show solidarity with the victims of the earthquake delivered hygiene kits to women in the poor neighbourhoods of Elbistan.

In Siirt, TJA activists, HDP Women's Council and Peace Mothers Council members, Municipality Co-Mayor Berivan Helen Işık, HDP Siirt Provincial co-mayor Hatice Tay sent the aid they collected to the earthquake zone with a Purple TIR. A banner saying ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi. We are not alone; we stand together’ was opened before the departure of the TIR.

HDP Siirt Provincial co-chair Hatice Tay said that they started a campaign to meet the needs of women and added that people's participation in the campaign was huge. She added that they will send trucks of aid to Adiyaman.
