TAJÊ: Êzîdxan remains standing thanks to the HPG and YJA Star

"Thanks to the heroism of the freedom fighters, Êzîdxan remains standing and is resisting today. We will not give up our freedom," said Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement.

The Free Yazidi Women's Movement (TAJÊ) issued a statement on the 3rd anniversary of the withdrawal of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) and Free Women’s Troops (YJA Star) guerrilla forces from Shengal on April 1, 2018.

Recalling that the KDP and Iraqi forces exposed Shengal to a genocide on 3 August 2014, the statement highlighted the fact that the HPG, YJA Star, People’s Defense Units (YPG) and Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) forces stopped a genocide attempt in Shengal with their struggle against ISIS gangs. "Shengal has become the home of heroes."

TAJÊ noted that Shengal was completely cleansed of ISIS as a result of 3 years of resistance and struggle of the HPG and YJA Star forces.

“Hundreds were martyred to defend the holy land. Young Yazidi women and men fought and resisted together with the HPG and YJA Star forces and formed the YBŞ (Shengal Resistance Units) and the Shengal Women's Units (YJŞ),” TAJÊ said.

The statement added, “We, as Yazidis and Yazidi women, will never forget their heroism. As long as we live, we will embrace the HPG and YJA Star forces. We owe our strength to their resistance. Thanks to the heroism of the freedom fighters, Êzîdxan remains standing and is resisting today. We will not give up our freedom.”
