In a written statement, the Socialist Women's Union (SKM) said: "As a result of the dirty negotiations and cooperation established by the AKP-Erdoğan dictatorship, three revolutionary women, Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez were murdered in the centre of Paris on 9 January 2013."

The statement added: "Although 7 years have passed since this murder, the struggle for real justice is still continuing. Despite the fact that the connection of the Turkish state and the MIT to the murder has been have clearly established in this indictment, Ömer Güney, the only defendant arrested, was eliminated with a sudden and suspicious 'death' days before his trial."

The statement continued: "Yesterday, the criminal networks that killed Sakine, Fidan and Leyla today are today trying to intimidate the forces and individuals who are fighting. But their efforts will be in vain."

The statement ended with a call "on all women to join the demonstration which will take place on 11 January in Paris."
