The trial of police officer Yüksel Moğoltay who 25-year-old killed Dilek Doğan during a raid on her family house in Istanbul on 18 October 2015 has resumed at Istanbul 12th High Criminal Court today.
Murderer Moğoltay and several lawyers as well as Dilek Doğan's parents attended the hearing.
The court board evaluated Dilek's mother reaction to the police officer “You killed my daughter” as 'harassment' and ordered her evacuation from the hearing room. Lawyers objected to the court board which therewith allowed her to stay in the hearing room.
Police officer Moğoltay who made his defense during the hearing said: "I did the duty my state assigned to me. I have a clear conscience.”
The murderer policeman got good conduct abatement and was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison for “reckless killing”.
