Hediye Abdullah, who was known as Mother Hogir, a member of the HPC-Jin Women's Civil Defense Forces, is one of the 11 martyrs of Derik.
She worked tirelessly against Turkey's drone war.
She had recently organized an action against drone attacks and international silence. Speaking at that action she said: "We have sacrificed 14 thousand martyrs and 16 thousand injured while eliminating the dirt of the whole world (refers to ISIS). But still there is silence in the face of the attacks on the Rojava Revolution. The whole world is watching us being massacred, but no one is raising their voice. The dreams of our children are being buried. As a people, we will show our stance and determine our own future. Wherever our fighters are, we will be by their side."
