Need for a stronger struggle

The workshop, which drew attention to the invasion and attack on Kurdistan, emphasized that Kurdish women will continue to fight against it organically and in a stronger way.

The final statement said: “The Kurdish society is faced with great dangers, but also with great opportunities for freedom and to solve its problems. The women in the workshop have approved some points”.

The 11-item final declaration of the European National Kurdish Women's Workshop is as follows:

* We, as members of the European National Kurdish Women's Workshop, are on the verge of a repetition of a 2nd Lausanne. In particular, we condemn the attitudes of the occupying Turkish and Iranian regimes and the attitudes of the sovereign powers. We declare that we will continue our actions, organization and struggle against these forces.

* We condemn the occupation operations carried out by the Turkish state in South Kurdistan and Afrin. Kurdistan women must stand against this occupation, fighting in every area for the withdrawal of the Turkish state from Kurdistan and for the end of the occupation.

* We condemn the execution of prisoners carried out by the Iranian regime. We call to stop the execution of Ramin Hossein Panahi as well as the release of all political prisoners, beginning with Zeinab Jalaliyan.

* We condemn the ongoing political genocide operations in Turkey. All political prisoners, especially Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, should be released.

* We propose to hold the 3rd National Kurdish Women's Workshop in Kurdistan.

* The Kurds who were forced to move to Europe due to the war and invasion in Kurdistan should be stood with.

* The National Kurdish Women's Platform should be organised in a wider way in Europe.

* All kinds of support must be provided for the further organization of Kurdish women in the field of arts.

* More struggle has to be organised in order to advance the Kurdish language and culture.

* All components of the National Kurdish Women's Workshop should be responsible for delivering the content of the workshop to Kurdish women living in Kurdistan and Europe.

* As members of the European Kurdish Women's National Workshop, we support the HDP and especially its women candidates in the forthcoming elections to be held in Turkey on June 24.
