The Confederation of Kurdish Communities in Germany (KON-MED) issued a written statement to mark 8 March, International Working Women Day.
The statement condemned Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who "did not know the limits of hostility. The whole world saw the brutality he used agains women and children. But it also saw the a people who resisted heroically against these attacks."
Drawing attention to the women fighters who resisted heroically in Rojava, KON-MED stated: "The heroic struggle of the Kurdish women, who wrote history on the Rojava fronts by defeating the misogynist mercenaries, showed their passion for freedom."
The statement added: "Kurdish women in Kurdistan have been the source of inspiration for all women in the world by carrying the leading flag of women's freedom struggle with their resistance on the fronts. All women of the world should stand with the women of Kurdistan and bring the spirit of 8 March to the streets."
Stating that Kurdish women are leading the resistance with the self-defense system they have developed, KON-MED continued as follows: "Women are faced with the attacks of a mentality that could not comprehend the concept of 'being a woman'. However, women are now more organized and repel the brutal attacks of the masculine mentality with great strength."
KON-MED ended its remarks by inviting "all Kurdish women and their friends to join all the actions and events organized by the Kurdish Women's Movement, especially in Germany, to mark 8 March."
