KJK salutes the Operation to Avenge Êzidî Women

Kurdistan Communities of Women (KJK) saluted the revenge operation of Êzidî forces and called upon Êzidî people, youth and women to return home in order to protect their land, culture and faith.

Kurdistan Communities of Women (KJK) issued a written statement on the ‘Operation to Avenge Êzidî Women’ and emphasized that humanity was going through a crisis, at the center of which lies the Middle East.

‘LIBERATED BY THE REVOLUTIONARY INITIATIVES OF THE PKK’

In its statement, KJK warned that the nation-state mentality is threatening women, peoples and faith and ethnic groups, who are resisting this threat through self-defense. KJK recalled that Êzidî people experienced another massacre on August 3, 2014, when ISIS carried out brutal and genocidal attacks in front of the entire world. KJK said that many Êzidîs were massacred, thousands of Êzidî women were taken prisoner and raped, and hundreds of thousands of Êzidîs were forced into exile during this period. KJK emphasized that the resistance of PKK guerrillas prevented the genocide of Êzidî people, and Shengal was liberated on November 13, 2015 with the revolutionary initiative of PKK fighters.

KJK said “Thousands of Êzidîs returned to Êzidxan and stood up for their history and culture. For the first time, Êzidî women’s assemblies were established based on the ideology and philosophy of Leader Apo, and people’s mobilization began to heal the wounds of 2014. Now, a new revolutionary initiative has been launched in Êzidxan as Êzidî forces led by the YJŞ began to carry out ‘Operation to Avenge Êzidî Women’ in order to liberate the lands in Shengal under ISIS occupation.”

‘EXILED ÊZIDÎ PEOPLE SHOULD RETURN TO THEIR LAND’

KJK stated that the operation to avenge Êzidî women aims to protect Êzidî identity and history, and saluted the revolutionary resistance. KJK called upon Êzidî people, youth and women to return to their land in order to protect their land, culture and faith.

‘RESURRECTED AND FIGHTING’

Lastly, KJK reiterated that Kurdish women would always work for the success of Êzidî people’s defense forces, which has been resurrected and is fighting in the mountains of Shengal for the liberation, self- defense and life of Êzidî people.
