About 100 women’s organizations and LGBT+ organizations have released a joint declaration as part of a campaign against the draft bill on Amendment of the Population Services Law and other laws and on draft bill on Victims' Rights.

Within the scope of campaign, women and LGBT+ people will take to the streets in many cities on October 1 and in Ankara on October 2 when the Turkish Parliament will open.

The joint statement made by organizations is as follows;

“We come together and will raise our voice in the streets and on social media against all pressures that prevent or make it difficult for us to choose and to decide how we shall live, and against the legal framework created for this purpose; to prevent women from dying due to increasing ‘Keep family together’ pressure and to prevent women from facing violence in their lives. We say these laws cannot just be passed!

We will take to streets on October 1 in many cities and we will be in Ankara on October 2 to say #BuYasalarBöyleGeçmez (These laws cannot just be passed).
