Hearing of Rojbin Çetin and Yıldız Çetin adjourned

The hearing of the trial against Rojbin Çetin and Yıldız Çetin has been adjourned.

The 4th hearing of the case where dismissed co-mayor of Erciş Municipality Yıldız Çetin and Sevil Rojbin Çetin, a member of the Democratic Local Governments Board and Free Women’s Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), stand trial for "membership in a terrorist organization" based on their activities in the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) and TJA was held at 5th High Criminal Court in Van on Thursday.

The two female politicians attended the hearing through video conferencing system (SEGBIS). Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, Sezai Temelli, HDP deputy co-chair for Law and Human Rights Commission Ümit Dede, HDP deputy co-chair for Local Governments Salim Kaplan and HDP central executive committee member Özlem Gündüz also attended the hearing.

The court board decided to listen to two witnesses who have not been heard yet and to make up the missing points in the file, and adjourned the hearing to 11 March 2021.
