Guerrillas strike Turkish troops in Zap

HPG guerrillas targeted Turkish troops using heavy weapons in the Zap region of South Kurdistan.

HPG Press Centre released a statement about the guerrilla actions and Turkish assaults in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The statement released on Thursday includes the following:

“As part of the Bazên Zagrose Revolutionary Campaign in the Zap region:

On January 24, the Turkish troops in Girê Koordîne were targeted and shot by our forces with heavy weaponry.

On January 24, the Turkish troops in Kela Bedewe were hit with heavy weaponry from two directions.

The targets were hit accurately during these two actions.

On January 21, the villages of Bilmendê and Muselaka in the Garê region were bombed 6 times by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 22, the Dergelê village in the Metîna region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 22, the Goşîne area in the Xakurkê region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 22, the Sîda area in the Zap region and on January 25, the Çemço area were bombed 4 times by Turkish fighter jets. On January 22, Turkish helicopter mobility was observed over the Qaşura line in the Metina region.

On January 26, the Sinînê area in ​​Xakurkê was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On January 26, the Barzan area was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

Our guerrilla forces did not suffer any casualties during the intense air strikes carried out by the invading Turkish army.”
