The French painter Laura Gréaume has drawn for "Solidarity with the women of Rojava" a portrait of the YPJ fighter Barîn Kobanê and published it via the short message service Twitter under the hashtag #WomenRiseUpForAfrin.

YPJ fighter Barîn Kobanê was killed at the end of January in the fight against the Turkish state and its mercenaries from al-Qaeda and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the village of Qunde in the district of Bilbilê in Afrin Canton.

Videos circulated on social media showing the mutilation of the YPJ fighter’s dead body. The Women's Defense Units (YPJ) press center confirmed that it was the body of the fighter Barîn Kobanê.
