Female guerrillas in Eastern Kurdistan celebrate March 8

Guerrillas in Rojhilat celebrate March 8 in the mountains of Kurdistan.

Women in the guerrilla ranks in Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan) held a military ceremony in the mountains on the occasion of the international women's day of struggle, March 8.

Rojîn Hêja from the Coordination of the Community of Free Women of Eastern Kurdistan (KJAR) gave a speech in which she pointed to the increasing patriarchal violence and the fighting women worldwide: "The voices of women are getting louder every day, from Latin America, Africa and Europe to the Middle East and Kurdistan women are fighting against fascism. Their voices are spreading all over the world. The struggle of Kurdish women is considered a source of inspiration. Every place is now a fighting area. In order to face the attacks of the fascist system, we need to strengthen our self-defense. We need to organize ourselves even better."

After the military ceremony a play was performed, and a choir also performed. The celebration, which included some lively dancing, lasted all day long.
