At the 3rd Congress of the Women’s General Assembly of the Future of Syria Party, awards were presented to the families of Martyr Hevrin Xelef and Martyr Nadiya Al-Xeshan.
The 3rd Congress of the Women’s General Assembly of the Future of Syria Party started this morning with the slogan ‘Our struggle is the guarantee of women's revolution and the construction of a democratic Syria’.
Semaira al-Aziz, Deputy Co-Chair of the Future of Syria Party, emphasised the importance of the struggle against the patriarchal government's efforts to reduce the role of women through the genocidal war.
She called for more importance to be given to women's causes and their role to be strengthened in decision-making.
Noting that the conflict in Syria is getting prolonged with no sign of a solution on the horizon, Semire said that the Damascus government is stubborn and wants to return to the pre-2011 situation.
In the congress, awards were also presented to the families of Martyr Hevrin Xelef, former secretary of the Future of Syria Party, and martyr Nadiya al-Xeshan, a member of the Future of Syria Party.
Hevrin Xelef was martyred by Turkish-backed gangs on 12 October 2019 along with her driver Farhad Remedan, while Nadiya al-Xeshan was martyred on 10 April 2018.
Nesrin Doko, co-chair of the Future of Syria Party, promised that they would continue the struggle of the two martyrs and women.
Nesrin said: “The project we are fighting for will be even brighter with the participation of women. We hope that our discussions will be fruitful and we will continue our work for security and development. Our party is trying to support women at all levels.”
