European Socialist Women’s Union issued a written statement to support DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Guven who is on a hunger strike against the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The statement said: “Leyla Guven has taken on an important struggle representing the will of resisting women. We salute the protest by Leyla Guven, who donned the legitimacy of fighting a fascist one man regime that is against our peoples and women in the dungeons of fascism, and lead the revolutionary action surge of the time. We wish her success.”

“Now everybody has the responsibility to show more solidarity with the hunger strike Leyla Guven started,” stressed the statement and continued: “Leyla Guven has raised inspiration for women and peoples with her action. We as women embrace the mass action lead of the time and we call to raise this struggle in European lands.”
