Stating that Nagihan Akarsel was one of the leading figures of the struggle to bring women's reality to light, ADKM said, "The flag of the women's freedom struggle in the hands of Comrade Nagihan is flying in the hands of millions of women."
In a written statement, the European Revolutionary Commune Assemblies (ADKM) condemned the murder of Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Jineology Research Center and academic in Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday.
The ADKM said that after the murder of Jina Amini, they learned that Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Jineology Research Center and academic, was killed. She was attacked by unknown armed assailants in Sulaymaniyah.
The statement, titled "You cannot cover the sun with mud", said: "You cannot prevent women's freedom struggle with massacres. You cannot crash the reality of women a thousand floors below the ground. You couldn't afford it yesterday, and you won't be able to do it today. Comrade Nagihan Akarsel has been one of the leading figures in the struggle to bring the woman's reality in the dark to light. Now the flag of the women's freedom struggle in the hands of Comrade Nagihan flies in the hands of millions of women.”
