The dam could fail due to the Turkish army bombings. If the dam fails due to the bombings, the Turinde, Ayndara, Basuta, Burc Ebdullah, Tilselur, Mele Xelil, Mihemediye and Nisiriye villages will be flooded and Afrin Canton center and villages will be left without watr.

Afrin Canton Agriculture Council Chairperson Eyub Mihemed stated that since January 20, there have been ten aerial attacks on the dam and if it continues like that, the dam will be heavily damaged and many villages will be flooded.

Expert units say they can’t assess the damage due to the constant bombing.
