Turkish-backed gangs shell Efrîn’s villages

Gangs affiliated to the invading Turkish army have shelled several villages of Efrîn with heavy weaponry. YPG fighters retaliated the attacks.

Turkish army affiliated gangs stationed in Semane Fortress launched a bombardment on the villages of Bashemra, Basûfanê and Birc Silêman in Efrîn Canton's Shêrawa district.

The gangs also attacked Barîn and Baz hills in Efrîn's Cindirês region. Material damage occurred in civilian areas as a result of the shelling. The Turkish army affiliated gangs shelled also Qestel Cindo village of Shera district from Azaz where they are deployed.

Fighters of the YPG (People’s Defense Units) and YPJ (Women’s Defense Units) retaliated the attacks immediately but clear results could not be obtained on the number of killed and wounded gang members.

The gangs attempted to infiltrate Maranez village in Shêrawa district but they were intercepted by the YPG fighters and forced to retreat.
