YPJ Commander: Our fighters making history in Ain Issa in the spirit of Newroz

YPJ Commander Milîtan Çiya said, "Our forces made history and repulsed the attacks of the occupant Turkish state in Ain Issa on Newroz. This is a success which inspires the peoples seeking freedom.”

YPJ (Women's Defense Units) Commander Milîtan Çiya spoke to ANHA about the Turkish bombing of the M4 highway, the intense attacks on the Seyda and Muelek villages on the northern and western fronts of Ain Issa in the last two days.

Çiya stated that the occupant Turkish state has exploited the initiative undertaken by the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) in coordination with Russian forces for the civilians to return to their homes in the village of Seyda.

"As a result, dozens of gang members sneaked into the village blending into the returnees. However, our forces have repelled the mercenaries, inflicting heavy losses on them, while others fled towards the Turkish bases, leaving the bodies of their comrades behind,” Çiya added.

The occupant Turkish state forces bombed the villages of Seyda and Muelek with fighter jets after the defeat of the gangs and the heavy losses they suffered in one day. In a statement released on 20 March, SDF reported that 18 gang members linked to the occupant Turkish state had been killed.

The YPJ Commander continued; “Our forces have shown the level of their preparedness against all parties that seek to occupy Syrian territory. The Turkish state must admit that it has been defeated. It should recognize the true will of the SDF fighters and the peoples aspiring freedom.”

The attempts of the occupant Turkish state to take control of 6 villages north of the M4 highway in the last 4 months have been frustrated. Gangs of the occupant Turkish state are trying to infiltrate these villages every day.

“SDF fighters have frustrated the attacks on Ain Issa in the spirit of Newroz. Free peoples have won again on this year's Newroz”, YPJ Commander Çiya added.
