‘We will continue our work despite the attacks’

Gulistan Şêx Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Agriculture Development Company, stated that the attacks of the Turkish state will not prevent their work and that they will not step back.

On the evening of 23 October, the occupying Turkish state launched a wave of attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria. Many citizens were martyred, while service centers, workplaces and basic settlements were damaged in the attacks.

Gulistan Şêx Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Euphrates Canton Agriculture Development Company, and employees of Elî Bakery in Kobanê spoke to ANHA about the attacks.

Condemnin the Turkish attacks against the region, Gulistan Şêx Ehmed said, “The Turkish state wants to destroy the economy of the region and starve the people by attacking the infrastructure, oil and gas stations, grain depots and service centres. The attack on the wheat warehouse in the village of Rovi caused great damage. One worker was martyred in the attack, 4 workers were injured and the grain depot was damaged. Despite all the attacks by the occupying Turkish state, we do not stop our work. On the contrary, we continue with greater determination. Our work will continue. Our place is with the people. We will continue our work in spite of the attacks.”

Ebdusemed Welo, who works at Eli Bakery in Kobanê, stated that the attacks of the occupying Turkish state did not prevent them from working, “It is neither the first nor the last attack by the occupying Turkish state. Their aggression continues. Despite everything, our work continues. Turkey wants to intimidate and displace the people with these attacks. We are always resisting. Attacks can never demoralise us. We are not afraid of attacks, and we do not leave our place. We will not allow the dreams of the occupiers to come true.”

Bakery worker Mehmûd Mihemed Şêxo said: “The occupying Turkish state attacked us while we were at work. Despite the attacks, we will continue to serve our people until the end. Our work will never stop.”
