Special mammography center opens in Raqqa

The Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria opened a special mammography center for early diagnosis of breast cancer in Raqqa.

Raqqa Civil Council Health Committee opened a mammography center at the maternity hospital in Raqqa. Dozens of women from Raqqa, officials and employees of the center, as well as representatives of the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria attended the opening ceremony of the center.

Speaking at the ceremony, Health Academy member Xîtam El Icêl said: "Regular mammography is one of the best imaging methods that allows breast cancer to be detected at an early stage. Therefore, more importance should be given to methods of protection against this disease."

In addition, Raqqa Civil Council Health Committee co-chair Hemide El Mihemed drew attention to the importance and duties of the centre and said: "Mammography is an important step in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. We can detect the symptoms of the disease three years in advance."

Raqqa Civil Council co-chair Hêvîn Îsmaîl also congratulated the opening of the center for women and said: "This is a result of the important developments that took place after the liberation of the city of Raqqa."

The opening of the center was made by the mother of martyr Îbrahîm Îsmaîl El Şihab and Raqqa Civil Council co-chair Hêvîn Îsmaîl.
