The Turkish army and allied mercenaries continue their attacks on North-East Syria, facing resistance from the Syrian Democratic Forces.
The Press Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the balance sheet of attacks by the Turkish army and allied mercenaries in North-East Syria for 2 March.
The SDF statement on Monday includes the following:
“On Sunday, our fighters successfully repelled multiple attacks by Turkish occupation mercenaries across several frontlines.
On the Tishrin (Tishreen) Dam front, Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continued to bombard the surrounding areas and countryside with heavy artillery and mortar shells. Meanwhile, the mercenaries launched several attacks on our positions, all of which were successfully thwarted by our fighters. Intense clashes ensued, resulting in injuries among the mercenaries. Our Martyr Haroun Units also took part in repelling the attacks and successfully shot down a drone attempting to target our positions.
On the Deir Hafer front, Turkish occupation UCAVs remained active in the area’s airspace. The mercenaries launched an attack using five suicide drones, which resulted in minor injuries to two of our fighters.
On the Qereqozak (Qara Qwzaq) Bridge front, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries indiscriminately shelled the villages of Al-Tina, Ja’dah, Bir Hisso, Ghasq, Dekan, Melha, and Al-San’a, as well as the Sayfi Hill and Qereqozak Hill and the power station in the town of Serrin. More than 90 shells, including heavy artillery, tank fire, rocket launchers, and mortar rounds, struck these areas, causing significant material damage to civilian homes and the power station. Under the cover of this heavy bombardment, the mercenaries attempted an attack on our positions. However, our fighters engaged them in fierce clashes, resulting in multiple casualties among the mercenaries, though the exact number remains unconfirmed.
On the Ain Issa front, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries shelled the village of Abu Surra in the western countryside with several missiles, causing damage to civilian homes and properties. Meanwhile, Turkish occupation UCAVs remained active in the skies over the town and its surrounding countryside throughout the day.
Turkish occupation UCAVs also conducted reconnaissance flights over the city of Kobani and its countryside.”
