The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Liaison Centre stated that Jabhat al-Akrad (Kurdish Front) commander Şêro Elî and Lîwa Siwar Idlib (Idlib Revolutionaries Brigade) commander Iskender Elaa fell as martyrs in the resistance against the occupying Turkish state and allied mercenaries in the Manbij region.
The statement emphasised that both commanders fought with strength and determination to defend the city and people of Manbij, putting up historic resistance against the occupying Turkish state and its gangs and falling as martyrs for this cause.
Expressing their condolences to the families of the fallen commanders, the families of all martyrs and the people of Manbij, the SDF said: “Undoubtedly, the martyrdom of our comrades Şêro and Îskender is a great loss for our resilient people. However, our determination to continue the struggle of both martyrs and all martyrs has increased today more than ever. Our struggle will be crowned with victory.”
The SDF stressed that they will embrace the legacy left by the commanders lost in the people's struggle for freedom and honour.
