Rojava issues videoclip in solidarity with doctors and nurses

People in Shehba have released a new song on the Italian popular resistance song Bella Ciao to pay tribute to doctors, nurses and all health care professionals fighting around the world against the coronavirus pandemic.

People in Shehba have released a video singing an original version of Bella Ciao in Kurdish and English to show support to all doctors and health care professionals around the world fighting the coronavirus pandemic. 

The words of the Italian popular resistance song have been changed to praise the doctors and nurses and to pay tribute to them saying “we believe in you”. 

Diyana Murad is a nurse. She sings the first verses in Kurdish accompanied by children of Afrin displaced because of the Turkish invasion of 2018, Komina Film members, refugees of the camps in Shehba and other health service personnel. 

The second part of the video is in English and reiterate support to doctors and nurses starting with those in Italy who paid a very high price in terms of death fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The new text underlined the difficult conditions in which health service personnel has been forced to work around the world. 

Murad sings what people around the world have been reiterating, i.e. their suppor and respect for the doctors and nurses on the frontline. 

At the end of the video a graffiti on a wall says “solidarity with Italy” in Italian.
