In a written statement on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration, of North and East Syria, which was declared on 21 January 2014, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) said, "the Autonomous Administration declared its establishment while Syrians were massacred and displaced, the danger of terrorism and terrorist organisations increased, and the projects of disintegration were on the rise".

The statement emphasised that political forces laid the foundation of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria under the leadership of the PYD, adding that the autonomous administration system is being implemented in other regions liberated from ISIS gangs under the leadership of SDF.

"We commemorate all the martyrs of freedom and pledge that we will follow in their footsteps until we realise their goals and protect the gains they have made," the PYD said, adding that the Democratic Autonomous model is the only key to solving the Syrian crisis and most of the problems in the region.
