The people of Manbij Canton attended the funeral of Internal Security Forces member Martyr Hesen Xidêr.
Residents of Manbij Canton, members of the Autonomous Administration of Manbij, political parties, civil society organizations, the Manbij Military Council, the Women’s Military Council, and tribal leaders, gathered at the canton’s cemetery for the funeral of Hesen Xidêr, who fell as a martyr while protecting the region’s security and stability. A symbolic ceremony was also held for Fereh El Berho, a child who fell a martyr when Turkish forces bombed her family’s home in the village of Qebqeb El Beniyê.
Ela El Elî, a member of the Canton Martyrs' Families Council, paid tribute to the community’s resistance and the legacy of the martyrs. Manbij's co-chair of the Interior Council, Ehmed Xelîfe, condemned Turkey’s attacks on the region, which aim to force people from their homes and disrupt the social fabric.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Fereh El Berho’s uncle, Hisên Elî, said: "What crime did this innocent 11-year-old child commit? We call on the world to stop the indiscriminate attacks that are killing our children and to end the crimes committed by the occupying Turkish state against our lands."
At the end of the ceremony, the martyrdom certificates for both Hesen Xidêr and Fereh El Berho were read and presented to their families.
