Deputy Co-Chair of the Executive Council of North and East Syria, Hemdan al-Abid, said that the Turkish state, through escalated attacks, wants to destroy the only democratic project that can solve the Syrian crisis.
The occupying Turkish state is escalating its attacks on the territory of North and East Syria under international silence.
On 12 January, the attacks took a new dimension and at least 73 locations were attacked. The attacks targeted vital infrastructure, people's houses, villages and urban centres. Millions of people were deprived of electricity due to the attacks.
Speaking to ANF, Deputy Co-Chair of the Executive Council of North and East Syria, Hemdan al-Abid said, "Through these attacks, Turkey wants to end the democratic project that offers a solution to the Syrian crisis."
Hamdan al-Abid pointed out that Turkey has resorted to all means and methods, including forming gangs, supporting ISIS, cutting off the water of the Euphrates River, activating sleeper cells and fuelling war, but all its efforts have failed.
"Turkey does not want a democratic project next to its borders because the autonomous administration project is the only project that can solve the Syrian crisis," al-Abid said, adding that the Turkish state is using unmanned reconnaissance drones and artillery weapons because it is not allowed to carry out ground attacks in North and East Syria.
"The aggression is not only targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces' positions, but also the Syrian government's positions on the border, targeting Syrian residents wherever they are," he added.
