Unidentified assailants opened fire on a civilian in front of the hospital in the town of Shihel to the east of Deir ez-Zor.

The victim, named Mahmut Muhammed El Ayid, lost his life at the scene.

The man reportedly came from the village of Ebu Herdub in the Shihel town and served as the former co-chair of a commune in the town.

Earlier today, a prominent member of the El Igêdat tribe and his son were murdered in the village of Hewaic Zêban, located in the east of Deir ez-Zor.

The house of Sheikh Telyûş Elafî El Şetat, one of the leading names of the El-Igêdat tribe, was raided by unidentified people. Sheikh Telyûş Elafî El Şetat and his son Mehmud were killed.
