Autonomous Administration: Damascus and Ankara want to create chaos

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria reacted to the attacks on Deir ez-Zor and stated that Ankara and Damascus, in agreement with foreign powers, want to sabotage efforts to ensure peace by creating chaos.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) released a statement regarding the latest wave of attacks against the Deir ez-Zor region. According to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), 11 civilians, including 5 children, were martyred in the attacks by Syrian regime forces in Deir ez-Zor.

In a written statement on Friday, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria said, "The Damascus government, in agreement with the Turkish state and other forces, wants to sabotage the efforts to restore peace by creating chaos in the region on the basis of supporting gang groups affiliated to it."

The Autonomous Administration recalled that a year ago, attacks had been organised to eliminate the will and social values of the people of Deir ez-Zor.

The statement continued: "These attacks were thwarted by the will of the people. The whole world also realised that the regime forces and its gangs committed massacres in the region. Today, in the morning hours, they carried out a massacre against civilians in the El-Dehla region in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. More than 11 people, mostly children, were martyred and more than 5 were wounded.”

The Autonomous Administration expressed its condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded and said the following "We would like to state once again that the will of our people in Deir ez-Zor is stronger than the plans that aim to destroy their will and values. We would like to express that we will act together with the will of our peoples against these known policies, which are completely in line with the demands of the Turkish state aiming to destroy our people."

Finally, the Autonomous Administration called on international institutions and organisations to fulfil their responsibilities in the face of the attacks.
