SDF: 8 terrorists killed in Deir ez-Zor

The final stage of the “Cizire Storm” offensive in Northeast Syria continues. During the battles over the last ISIS-occupied areas in the Deir ez-Zor region, at least six Islamists have been killed in the past 24 hours.

The operation “Cizire Storm” against the last structures of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in the northeast of Syria continues. In a 24-hour review, the SDF reports six militiamen killed and IS weapons seized.

At the front of Al-Baghouz, there have been attacks on SDF positions that have been repulsed. The IS carried out these attacks with heavy weapons such as hand-operated RPG anti-tank grenade launchers and BKC machine guns. In addition, IS snipers were used. At least six jihadists were killed in the clashes, a large number of weapons and ammunition seized.

The statement continues: "The international anti-IS coalition carried out strikes on the positions of the IS. An ammunition depot was destroyed and the connection of the terrorists from the village Murshida and the Al-Sousse town was cut off. During the battles, three SDF fighters suffered injuries. Another member of our forces lost his life due to the explosion of an IS mine, while another was injured."
