Clashes broke out between the Jaysh Al-Sharqiyya and Jaysh Al-Islam gang groups in Afrin’s Kawa Square at 13:30 today.

The gangs are using heavy weapons as the clashes intensify and spread to the Newroz crossroads. Local sources report several casualties from both sides in the Newroz and Kawa squares, while gangs say one person died in the clashes.

The clashes between the gang groups allegedly started when the Jaysh Al-Sharqiyya gang leader was murdered by the Jaysh-Al Islam gang group.
