Youth demonstrations for solidarity with hunger strikers

Youth  groups held demonstrations in Mainz, Germany and Bern, Switzerland.

Kurdish youth and women held a civil disobedience demonstration in the SWR in Mainz, Germany, demanding to meet with authorities. The participants protested the aggravated isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan and pointed to the hunger strike resistance.

The protesters held a banner that read, “There are over 7.000 #KurdsOnHungerStrike and you are silent”.

They chanted “Freedom for Ocalan, Peace in Kurdistan” and “The resistance’s name is Leyla Guven”, and read a statement on the aims of the protest.

The police removed the youth by force after their demand to meet with authorities was rejected.
