Young women celebrate Öcalan's birthday playing daf in the streets of Zurich

A group of young Kurdish women played daf in the streets of Zurich wearing their traditional dresses to celebrate the birthday of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Activists of the Women's Youth Movement TEKO-JIN celebrated 4 April on the streets of Zurich and said that the time for the freedom of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan, has come. The women reminded that Öcalan has been under isolation for 22 years in Imrali.

The young women sang songs and danced playing their daf at the demonstration, which attracted great interest from people.

In the action, which lasted about an hour, women activists made the following call to all young people: "Leader Öcalan 's freedom is our freedom. Young people must be in permanent mobilisation until Leader Öcalan is liberated. This must be the last birthday we celebrate while Öcalan is in Imrali."
