SDF fighters freed 5 families in Diriyê neighborhood yesterday. These families shared their feelings with the ANF in Al-Jazra neighborhood.

The freed families stated that they have not been able to sleep even as they hid themselves from ISIS gangs. The families said the gangs were using women and children as shield for themselves.

Ebtîsam Hemdûn who was freed from ISIS alongside her 4 children told that: “We di not get a wink of sleep for the last one month as we were afraid that ISIS gangs would spot us and take us to the city center. When my children wept, I would close their mouth with my hand to not let their voices be heard.”

Ebtîsam Hemdûn continued; “We were waiting for Syrian Democratic Forces for a month. We could tolerate the artillery attacks only with the hope that they would free us. Thankfully we have been freed and reached this area today.”
