Today in Berlin a demonstration will demand justice for Sakine, Fidan and Leyla

A demonstration will take place today in Berlin to mark the eleventh anniversary of the murder of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez by the Turkish Secret Services in Paris.

On the eleventh anniversary of the murder of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, a demonstration will take place in Berlin today at the same time as a Europe-wide demonstration in Paris.

The demonstration in Berlin will begin at 11am at Hermannplatz with the slogan "Darkness in Paris - Where is Justice?".

The Berlin activists called on everyone to attend the march and said: “Eleven years after the MIT murdered Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez on 9 January 2013, we are taking to the streets once again to call for the perpetrators to be named. To date, the Turkish state has not been prosecuted for the political assassination. Because the French state treated the proceedings as a state secret and blocked the investigation, the ground was prepared for a second attack on the Kurdish cultural centre in Paris on 23 December 2022.”

The Kurdish association FED-KURD also called for people to take part in the demonstration in Berlin.
