11 young people who lighted a fire and celebrated Newroz yesterday in the Gölyazı village in Cihanbeyli, Konya were detained by the Turkish gendarmerie today. The teens, accused of "opposition to the law on meetings and demonstrations", were taken to Cihanbeyli Police Headquarters after their statements were taken at Gölyazı Police Station. They were taken to the Konya Police Department today.

A 4-day detention warrant was issued for the detainees who received a ban to meet their lawyers.

The names of those detained, including children, are as follows: Muhammed Deveci, Hamit Karayel, Hacı Karagöz, Hüseyin Apaydın, Mehmet Altuntaş, Hasan Bıçakçı, Fikret Aydın, Bünyamin Havutçu, Deniz Yıldız, Hasan Onat and İsmail Yildirimpınar.
