Sit-in against occupation and isolation continues in Strasbourg

The Kurdish activists were visited by the 'World to Live' activists who called for solidarity with the Kurdish people and their resistance.

The sit-in action organized by the European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) and the European Democratic Kurdish Society Congress (KCDK-E) against Turkey’s recent attacks in southern Kurdistan and the isolation of Öcalan continues in Strasbourg, France.

On the second day of the action, leftist groups visited the sit-in protest organized under the motto “Everywhere is Avashin, everywhere is Zap, everywhere is Metina against occupation and genocide! Time for Freedom!".

Activists from the 'World to Live' visited the Kurdish activists and gave speeches. The activists stated that the invasion attacks launched by the Turkish state against Medya Defence Zones on April 24 was a genocide against the Kurdish people. April 24 marks the anniversary of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

“This attack is not only directed against the freedom of the Kurdish people. It is aimed at destroying a people as a whole. We call on all humanity embrace the resistance and the Kurdish people in response to this attack organized by imperialist countries, the Turkish State and the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party). It is time to turn everywhere into Avashin, Zap and Metina," the World to Live activists said.

The four-week sit-in in Strasbourg was launched on Wednesday with a press release in the area where the "Freedom for Öcalan Vigil" has been carried out since June 2012.
