YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and international coalition forces launched an operation on Tabqa city on March 21 as part of the third phase of Operation Wrath of Euphrates.
According to the related statement of Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room Command, the operation was launched after fighters were airdropped into the region with helicopters for the first time. During the ongoing offensives in the region, 14 villages and Tabqa Military Airport have been liberated from ISIS gangs so far.
SDF have sent reinforcing units to Tabqa for the liberation of this city center after Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room fighters liberated Tabqa Military Airport around 21:00 last night. The reinforcements crossed the Euphrates on boats with their heavy weaponry and took positions in the area to the south of the river.
On the other hand, SDF forces continue efforts for the evacuation of civilians that have been forced to live under the cruel rule of ISIS gangs for many years. Civilians are transferred to the secure areas under SDF control.
