Regime forces start to surrender in Qamishlo

The clashes that broke out between the regime and Asayish forces yesterday morning have continued through the night and today in the early morning. Regime forces are starting to surrender after losing several positions in the clashes.

Dîfa Wetenî paramilitary forces allied to the Regime arrested 2 YPG fighters and took them to Damascus on April 19. Arresting 2 traffic members around Qamishlo Bazaar on April 20, the Dîfa Wetenî killed 2 Qamishlo Asayish members and 3 civilians, including 1 child in Sebeh Behrat Intersection.

As a result, Asayish forces intervened around 11.00 a.m. and YPG fighters joined in on the clashes that broke out on Regime positions.

18 KILLED

After violent clashes in Wista and Bişêriyê Intersection and Alaya neighborhoods, the bread bakery in Siyahî neighborhood was taken by Asayish forces. 18 regime members were killed in the clashes and several were wounded or arrested. One Regime vehicle was destroyed.

1 COMMANDER AND 6 SOLDIERS SURRENDERED

Another spot for violent clashes was Elaya Prison. Approximately 60 members of the Baath regime were surrendered by Asayish and YPG forces and asked to surrender. 1 commander and 6 soldiers answered the call and surrendered. The clashes continued until the morning in this region. 20% of Elaya Prison was taken by Asayish and YPG forces.

Following the siege and clashes that continued into the morning, YPG and Asayish forces offered time for the regime forces to avoid clashes and to surrender at 10.00 a.m. today. One commander with rank and 2 others allied to the regime surrendered to the YPG. The siege around Elaya Prison continues now. According to Asayish officials, Regime forces have several dead and wounded members inside the prison.

4 ASAYİSH MEMBERS LOST THEIR LIVES

Asayish forces transported civilians to safe areas in all clash zones. 4 Asayish members lost their lives in the clashes yesterday. 3 civilians, including a child, and 4 Asayish members were wounded.

Also according to the Asayish officials, clashes continue on and off in Qamishlo bazaar.
