YRJ celebrates Kurdish Journalism Day

In a statement on Kurdish Journalism Day, YRJ vowed that the struggle will continue, the truth will be revealed and the darkness will be prevented.

The Women's Press Union (YRJ) made a statement on April 22 Kurdish Journalism Day.

“The voice of truth was first raised in prison in 1982 by Mazlum Doğan, the founder of the free press. Since then, the free press has been one of the pillars of the struggle for existence, freedom and justice,” the statement said.

The statement recalled the history of the free press and the role of Kurdish women in the development of the free press, as well as the establishment of the YRJ in North and East Syria.

YRJ commemorated martyred journalists Dilîşan Îbiş, Cîhan Bîlgîn, Eylûl Nûhilat, Dilovan Gever, Meryem Mihemed (Agirî Yilmazê), Ahîn Fayiq Îbrahîm (Arîn Cûdî), Rîm Xoşman and Rohenda Efrîn and all the martyrs of the free press and vowed that the struggle will continue, the truth will be revealed and the darkness will be prevented.
