The prisoners who were on hunger strike in the High Security, T Type and F Type Closed Prisons in Van called off their action after the message of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. 

As they ended the hunger strike, 12 prisoners were sent to Van Regional Training and Research Hospital and were discharged on Wednesday. The prisoners from T Type Closed Prison were: Zakir Baysal, Azad Yalgin, Mazlum Kapar, Medya Aslan, Sait Ucar, Devran Bahadir, Muhammet Salih Cicek, and Mehmet Tumur.

The prisoners from the High Security Closed Prison were: Ömer Koç, Mahir Doğutekin. Prisoners Cihan Tamur, Ahmet Anığı and Vedat Özağır who went on hunger strike on 16 December 2018, and then on death fast were returned to prison as well.
