President of National Federation of Cypriots condemns attempts to close the HDP

National Federation of Cypriots in the UK President Christos Karaolis spoke about the repression and closure procedure against the HDP and isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The president of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK, Christos Karaolis, talked to journalist Erem Kansoy about the repression in Turkey, the closure procedure against the HDP and isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Christos Karaolis was elected President of the Federation for the first time in June 2015, having previously served on the Executive Committee and the Secretariat of the Federation for four terms. He was unanimously re-elected for a third term in May 2019. He is the first third generation Cypriot elected to that position and the fifth President of the Federation since its establishment. He is a member of the President of Cyprus’ ‘Overseas Cypriots Advisory Committee’ and Vice President of POMAK (the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots). Christos Karaolis has been a member of the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood’s committee for a number of years. Christos is also a founding member of NEPOMAK and served as President of NEPOMAK UK from 2005 to 2006. He was then elected President of NEPOMAK from 2006 to 2014. He was elected Honorary President of NEPOMAK in 2016.
