Police detain a number of people in Ankara, prevent activists from celebrating May Day

Members of the Revolutionary Anarchism Federation (DAF) wanted to celebrate May Day with a march in Kızılay, in Ankara. Police attacked the group that started marching with the slogans "Long live May 1".

Members of the Revolutionary Anarchism Federation (DAF) wanted to celebrate International Workers’ Day with a march in Kızılay, in Ankara. Police detained 4 people and threatened the press members and activists with arrest should they record the events.

Despite all the prohibition and bans issued by the AKP / MHP government, International Workers' Day is being celebrated in Istanbul as well with protests. Police detained many activists and workers who tried to reach Taksim Square.
