This year Newroz will be celebrated with the slogan "Let's resist with the Newroz fire, let's liberate ourselves". In Amed, people will celebrate in Newroz Park in Bağlar. People are filling the Newroz area since the early morning hours.

People waited at the bus stops for a long time and then decided to walk to the Newroz area because the buses of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, which has been taken over by the AKP / MHP-appointed trustee, did not travel to the Newroz area.

The people wearing their national clothes and chanting slogans, were kept waiting at the police checkpoints established at the entrance of the area on the grounds that they searched for bombs. Hundreds of people wearing “Newroz be pîroz” masks continue to wait while they dance at the entrances in the area.

The people chanted slogans and demanded that lawyers are granted a visit with Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.
